Corbin's Abilities

Corbin's most impressive non-magical abilities are his empathy (he can feel what others feel, both physically and emotionally), and his telepathy, though his other psionic abilities are noticeably weaker than those of his uncles. He does not seem to be capable of telekinesis or pyrokinesis.
He is much better with a sword than a child should be, though he still has much he can learn. He is also quite at home on the back of a horse, as well as a rather odd assortment of other animals besides. He appears to be a fair musician, though this is more the magic of his guitar, but he is quickly learning.

Corbin's only magic is his imagination, yet it is both supremely powerful and strictly limited. That which he imagines has the potential to become real. It is limited, however, by various factors. Above all else, Corbin must believe in it. The belief of others strengthens the magic, but it is Corbin's belief that sets it into motion.

Additionally, while his magic manifests as physical realities, it can not affect the thoughts or feelings of others. For example, he cannot imagine that his father does not love him, and have it become true. The line becomes thinner in areas involving magic. For example, Merloch and Gem both mistakenly thought that the medallion that Corbin got from his father Jarred was magical. Because of the power of their combined belief, and Corbin's willingness to imagine that it was, the medallion in fact took on the properties that Corbin imagined it to have. This is one of the more powerful ways that his magic can operate. In such cases, however, sincere belief is critical. While it is feasible for Corbin to purposely use his magic, knowing that he is causing it makes it strictly temporary, a mere illusion.
