Temuchin is the offspring of Draegon's head guard, Kaechii, and Kyla Ramsay. Kaechii absorbed Draegon to protect Gem Blueston, but he was unable to control the extreme levels of evil in the bloodlines Draegon had absorbed over the years and he himself became deeply demonic and evil. Under this influence, he forced himself on Kyla, producing Temuchin.

Though he had specific plans for Temuchin at the time, he was unable to remember them when Draegon escaped, draining the powers and influence that had guided him. Temuchin, however, continued to grow at an agonizing pace, the spurts leaving him screaming and writhing on the ground each time they hit. Such extreme growth made learning impossible.

Undisciplined and incapable of normal communication, Temuchin was a wild and dangerous animal, bullying Kallak and terrorizing Raelynn. With Kaechii in prison and Draegon refusing to share the same roof with Kaechii's son, Kyla was soon at her wits end.

Secretly, she went to visit Kaechii in prison, taking Temuchin to see him in the hopes that he could do something to tame him. Thoroughly stripped of all forms of power, ill and weak, Kaechii promised to do what he could when he completed his punishment - but at present, he had nothing to offer. One thing led to another, however, and Draegon appeared in the midst of chaos. Kallak and Raelynn were missing somewhere in the prison, (It had been necessary for Kyla to bring them with her), and Temuchin was on the floor screaming in the midst of another severe growing spurt, and Kyla was in near hysterics.

Draegon comforted Kyla, sending guards to search for the children, and offered to let Kaechii out to deal with what he had produced. Kyla, not able to bring herself to trust Kaechii despite his agonized apologies, and not really wanting Temuchin free to roam anymore either, asked if he couldn't just put Temuchin in the cell with Kaechii. This surprised Draegon somewhat, but he readily agreed.

Still stunned from the growth spurt, though it had passed now, Temuchin had little time to do anything except bite the guard that shoved him into the cell with Kaechii. Struggling to his feet, however, Temuchin was quick to attack Kaechii, whom he perceived as ill-smelling and weak, (which he was). Draegon put his arm around Kyla, leading her out, but as he went he gave Kaechii his old, normal powers back so that he might deal with Temuchin.
